The pretty vineyard

These Creations were made for the exhibition ‘La jolie vigne’ organised by the association 13+ in 2017. They were exhibited in Louisville (USA) and Dijon (21). My work focused on the colours of the vineyard throughout the four seasons and those of red and white wine.
This project was part of an intercultural project with artists from Kentucky.
This project was born out of the meeting and friendship between a Burgundian artist, Micheline Reboulleau from the association 13+, and an American artist, Gena Neumann. They met in 1996 in Mainz at the Street Arts Festival organised by the city of Dijon.
Micheline Reboulleau, invited by Gena, worked and exhibited in Louisville in 2000, where she was received by Mayor Armstrong.
Gena, who is of Cherokee origin, exhibited in Dijon in 2002 on the theme ‘Spirit of Nature’. The artistic project is structured around two axes:
Artistic
– Discover and exchange our artistic practices with our American colleagues.
– Exhibiting our work and communicating with an audience. Reciprocally, enabling American artists to exhibit their works and make their work known in France, in Dijon.

Cultural
– American artists discover our heritage in Dijon and the surrounding area.
– And vice versa, enriching our artistic culture with American expertise.
Each group has chosen its theme: the artists from Treize Plus will work on the theme of ‘La jolie vigne’ (The pretty vineyard).
The American artists will work on the theme of ‘Joie de vivre’ (Joy of life).
La jolie vigne: this theme, which is also a nod to Aristide Bruant, who revived this very old song on the Butte Montmartre, has close links with wine and the prestigious Burgundy region, which upholds traditional wine-growing values and whose climats have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015.
